Typing Test Mode & Language Options

The Typing Skill Test for DSSSB clerical posts will be conducted in a screen‑to‑screen mode. Candidates will type the passage displayed on their computer screen within the allotted time. The test aims to evaluate typing accuracy and speed in either English or Hindi, depending on the candidate’s chosen language.

Mode of Test

  • The typing passage will appear in a separate window on the computer screen.
  • Candidates must type the same passage in the provided text box using the keyboard.
  • DSSSB will provide both the computer and keyboard at the test centre.
  • For Hindi typing, the fonts used will be KrutiDev or Mangal (Remington GAIL/Inscript layout).

Language Selection

  • Candidates were required to select their preferred typing language (English or Hindi) through the OARS portal between 9 July 2026 and 13 July 2026.
  • Those who did not exercise their option within the given period are automatically deemed to have chosen English.
  • No request to change the language option will be entertained at any stage, including on the day of the test.

Mock Test Facility

Reporting Guidelines

  • The specific date and shift of the candidate will be mentioned in the E‑Admit Card.
  • Candidates must report at the centre as per the reporting time given in the E‑Admit Card.
  • No entry will be allowed after the closing time under any circumstances.
  • Candidates are not permitted to leave the exam centre before the completion of the test duration.
  • Photo Attendance Sheets will be provided at the centre. Candidates must sign, affix thumb impression, and complete the required details in the presence of the invigilator.
  • Candidates may retain their E‑Admit Card after the completion of the exam.

Provisional Candidature

The candidature for the Typing Skill Test is provisional. Candidates must ensure they fulfill all eligibility criteria (qualification, age, caste, reservation benefits) as per the cutoff date. If found ineligible at any stage, their candidature will be cancelled.

Special Provisions for PwBD Candidates

Exemption from Typing Test

  • PwBD candidates who are permanently unfit for typing due to physical disability may be exempted from the test.

  • An undertaking must also be submitted at the Skill Test Centre on the date mentioned in the E‑Admit Card.

  • Absence without seeking exemption will disqualify the candidate.

Compensatory Time

  • PwBD candidates eligible for compensatory time will be given 15 minutes instead of 10 minutes for the typing test.
  • Relevant original documents and photocopies must be produced to avail this facility.

Scribe / Passage Dictator Facility

  • Visually Handicapped candidates (Low Vision/Blind) are eligible for a Scribe/Passage Dictator.
  • The scribe/passage dictator must be arranged by the candidate at their own cost and choice.
  • Passage will not be provided in Braille; the scribe/passage dictator will read out the passage within the allotted time.
  • A person acting as a scribe/passage dictator for one candidate cannot act for another candidate and must not be a candidate for the same exam.

  • Both candidate and scribe must carry valid ID proofs and photographs at the exam centre.

Conduct & Discipline Rules

  • Candidates must abide by all instructions given by the Centre Superintendent, Invigilators, or DSSSB staff.
