📢 The Department of Women, Child Development and Social Security, Government of Jharkhand has released Notification No. 3062 dated 10th September 2026 inviting applications for vacant positions in Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs) and Child Welfare Committees (CWCs). This recruitment drive is being conducted through the JAP-IT Recruitment Portal.

Vacant Positions and Engagement Details

  • Juvenile Justice Boards (JJBs): 04 Social Worker Member positions, honorary engagement, 3-year term, Rs. 2000 per sitting.
  • Child Welfare Committees (CWCs): 07 Chairperson/Member positions, honorary engagement, 3-year term, Rs. 2000 per sitting.

Eligibility Criteria for JJB Social Worker Members

Applicants must be between 35–60 years of age and possess:

  • A degree with at least 7 years of experience working with children in education, health, protection, or welfare activities.
  • OR a professional degree in child psychology, psychiatry, sociology, or law.
  • No record of human rights or child rights violations, convictions, or dismissal from government service.
  • Ability to devote sufficient time to JJB responsibilities.

Eligibility Criteria for CWC Chairpersons and Members

Applicants must be between 35–60 years of age and meet one of the following:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience working with children in education, health, protection, or welfare activities with a degree.
  • OR be a practicing professional with a degree in child psychology, psychiatry, social work, sociology, human development, law, or a retired judicial officer.
  • Must not hold conflicting positions in child care institutions, political parties, or full-time occupations that hinder committee work.

Selection Process Explained

The recruitment process will be conducted in two stages:

  1. Screening of Applications: Only candidates fulfilling basic eligibility will be shortlisted.
  2. Evaluation by Selection Committee:
    • Personal Interaction – 50% weightage (aptitude, attitude, domain knowledge, child rights awareness).
    • Educational Qualifications – 25% weightage (marks-based scoring).
    • Work Experience – 25% weightage (length of service or professional practice).

The Selection Committee will recommend a merit-based panel valid for one year.

Application Guidelines for Candidates

  • Applications must be submitted online via JAP-IT Recruitment Portal.
  • Candidates can apply for multiple positions in a district and must indicate preferences.
  • A separate application form and undertaking (Annexure-III) on Rs. 100 non-judicial stamp paper is required for each district.
  • Applicants must upload scanned copies of educational qualifications, work experience proofs, Aadhaar, DOB certificate, and NOC (if applicable).
  • Incomplete applications will be rejected.
