📢 BSUSC Contractual Faculty Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for Assistant Professor Posts

Bihar State University Service Commission (BSUSC), Patna has released a new notification for the recruitment of Contractual Faculty (Assistant Professor) in various subjects across universities of Bihar, including 211 newly constituted Government Degree Colleges.

👉 Candidates must apply online through the HED Samarth Portal (hedbiharrec.samarth.edu.in). Admit cards for interviews will be available on the same portal.

📚 Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 43 years as on 01 August 2026. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per Bihar Government rules.
• Educational Qualification: Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade). Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/BC/EBC and PwD candidates of Bihar.
• Candidate must have qualified NET (UGC/CSIR) or possess a Ph.D. degree as per UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016.
• Ph.D. holders from foreign universities ranked among the top 500 in QS, THE, or ARWU rankings are also eligible.

📊 Selection Criteria

The selection will be based on a total of 100 marks, divided into Academic Qualifications (88 marks) and Interview‑cum‑Demonstration (12 marks).

📚 Academic Qualification Marks (88 Marks)

• Ph.D. Degree: 11 marks
• JRF: 11 marks
• NET: 8 marks
• Post‑Graduation: 17–26 marks (depending on percentage)
• Graduation: 9–17 marks (depending on percentage)
• Intermediate (10+2): Maximum 13 marks (calculated as 13/100 × percentage)
• Matric (10th): Maximum 10 marks (calculated as 10/100 × percentage)

👉 Example: If a candidate has 75% in Post‑Graduation, they will get 23 marks. If they have 70% in Graduation, they will get 15 marks.

🗣️ Interview & Teaching Demonstration (12 Marks)

• Teaching Skills: Maximum 6 marks (tested by demonstration, video‑recorded).
• Interaction with Interview Board: Maximum 6 marks.

📌 Shortlisting for Interview

Candidates will be shortlisted in the ratio of 1:3 (three candidates for each vacancy). If multiple candidates have the same score at the cut‑off, all will be called for interview.

📝 Merit List Preparation

• The merit list will be prepared based on total marks (academic + interview).
• If two candidates have the same score, the one with higher academic marks will be placed higher.
• If still tied, the older candidate (by date of birth) will be placed higher.
• If still tied, alphabetical order of names in Devanagari script will be used.

📌 University Allotment

• Universities will be allotted on a merit‑cum‑choice basis, depending on vacancies, reservation rules, and institutional needs.
• Candidates must give their preference of universities during the application process.
• Once allotted, no change in preference will be allowed.
• Joining must be completed within 7 days of the allotment notification, otherwise the candidature will be cancelled.

📑 Terms of Appointment

• The appointment is purely contractual and valid only for one academic session.
• Fresh engagement will be made each year, based on performance and institutional requirements.
• Monthly remuneration will be equal to the minimum gross salary (Basic + DA) of a regular Assistant Professor at entry level.
